Its been another incredible week of lessons learnt. What values do we need to live a brilliant life? My life coaching style is based on working with personal values and beliefs to create positive change.
First step in motivating yourself to achieve a goal is to acknowledge that change needs to happen. I love starting any coaching session with values work to really focus on who/what/why. It’s a really enjoyable way for my clients to dig deeper and find their core mindset. It’s simple but very effective, and can lead to great breakthroughs.
My July has been busy. My twin passions of philanthropy and of life coaching kept me going despite battling backache ( more core exercise needed) and a Summer cold ( listened to my body and cancelled non urgent meetings) .
My work with the Nelson Mandela Foundation kept me busy preparing for the London Centenary events mid July . Also exciting developments launching an Autumn collaboration – more of which later .
Amidst the World Cup fever, the unprecedented hot British weather and the ongoing horrific drama of 12 Thai schoolboys trapped in flooded underground caves, my life coaching takeaway this week was Hope.
Our undiminished human capacity to hope and pull together in times of fear and joy was fantastic to witness. ‘England might go through to win the World Cup, maybe our Summer will be warm and long, gosh those boys will be saved’!
Without hope, we cannot achieve the unthinkable, challenge ourselves to the seemingly unattainable. Yet it happens, and that is the ultimate human victory .
I also met some incredible people here in London and was inspired by their stories.Take Julia Lopez for example , new MP for Hornchurch and Upminster, supported by Women2win , who never thought that she would become a politician in 2016, but is so passionate, eloquent and engaging , that the thought is ludicrous.
I am proud that our British democracy is alive and well in the hands of such a talented lawmaker. It shows how the power of your values is your rocket fuel.
